Things are looking up
I just saw this post on another public site
Not sure if it's true but for surf fisherman with cabin fever it might help
Trenton, NJ – The Christie Administration announced today that Island Beach State Park, one of the most popular destinations in the New Jersey State Park System, is now partially reopened for walking, sport fishing and four-wheel driving after cleanup from damages caused by Superstorm Sandy.
'This partial reopening of Island Beach State Park is an important benchmark in the state’s recovery from Sandy,' said Governor Christie. 'While there is still much work to be done, we know that having even partial access to the park is important to residents and visitors and we are thrilled to welcome them back.'
Public access to Island Beach State Park is now possible with the recent reopening of Route 35 in Seaside Park. Entry to the park during this initial reopening phase is free.'
Come on spring.

Re: Things are looking up
Lets see how many people read it wrong. They say it is free entrance for the time being. How many people you think will drive on the beach with out a last years pass or a new pass... My guess is alot

I was glad to hear it , great step forward.
What a bummer that would be to misinterpret "FREE ENTRANCE" i wonder if those who take it the wrong way will be fined

Re: Things are looking up
Well first day of it being open someone posted a picture of 6 trucks on the beach. Out of the 6 one was stuck. Also heard from some of the NJBBA guys that there is some very soft spots. So if anyone is heading out be careful and take your time.
