I arrived at a mark and decided to go somewhere else but that just didn't look right , so back to first mark and wait till a couple in a rib disappear as there know for taking every bass they catch,

Anyway walk x.x miles to gps mark and its not looking good waters murky and weedy, but i knew it would clear soon as the ebb kicked in and it sure did with the odd bit hear and there ,
I tried the light gear sort of happy with it but not the seaguar braid week as pi## once wet it snapped in my hands ahh well back to the 6" purple 1 1/4oz needle few casts fish on a little rat , then nothing for the next 3-4 casts, time to change the retrieve speed me thinks ....slightly fast stop slow wait and then same again nothing so as you needle men know how far them needles cast, well i was using my stealth and estimate a good 80yds two turns of the 5000fb bang holy crap all hell broke loose, i got it coming in then it decided to head to Holland for 3 attempts and finally i knew it was mine,

I carried it to my bag to get the tape and camera out .......................... no sodding camera my daughter took the camera to use for her birthday and them useless touch screen phones don't work with wet hands ...............talk about ****ed this is how you make a 46 yr man have tears in my eyes gutted , i put the fish in a pool while i desperately tried to get the damn phone to work nothing, the tape showed ..............................73cms 29" holy chit my pb found out its a tad over 9lbs which is very good for hear

Please forgive me i nearly thought about taking this baby home for pictures and a weight but NO i just could`nt do it so one last time to try phone nope no good , it was that bad i nearly smashed the phone on the rocks

I picked the bass up and i sat down in the water slowly pushing it back and forth then she swam away ooohhh what a feeling, i was shouting at the top of my voice LOL,

and when i did the couple of miles back to the car i see blue lights ohh chit someone broke into my car ....nope it was some one informed the police they thought i was stuck and there where about to call a search with the coast guard. another 5 mins i would of had some explaining to do then.

Eversoexcited..Mark

Congrats on the catch cheers
And it's time to get your own camera and hiding it so the family can't barrow it.
Great report and story, keep them coming.

But did it fight better or as good as a Seal ? ? lol!

Great fish Mark, looking forward to next season, with your own plugs too, well done.
Know about them blue lights.. was fishing into the night next to a railway line. Had parked the Transit panel van on the slip-road to a crossing over the line. After fishing, during which we'd had some light rain, couldn't get the van back up the slope. So, I found an old rusty gate in the hedge, put that in. Still no joy. Took the railway- line gate off of it's hinges (the one that said ''£1000 FINE for failure to close!!!!''), really heavy..
put that in, yeah, got up that slope.. to find the rozzers waiting at the top!
Ah..
Scrap metal was fetching a fortune at the time.
That took a lot of explaining!
Cheers, Jim.
