704z rebuild.

little project on a 704z......kept it simple......all new drag assy washers ,liner bushings....rotor brake,dog spring,ecentric spring,bailless kit....gona send out the oldbail and get it chromed............had the whole reel sandblasted/powdercoated most parts are from Scotts B&T....CAUSEWAY B&T for the bailless kit..... power knob from TONY FISHINGREEL179 EL MONTE CA.

yes Zmat......all reels i do get sandblasted and powder coated......even the old bail wire and arm assy get chromed out.......thanks for all the great feed back.

no whitey all is ok.......still have a 1/6 clearence.......although that question has been brought up.....but all is fine

handyman, very nice. i gotta get the bailess kit so i can finish mine. power knob really makes it look good. greenie is top shelf also. handyman what does it cost for the powdercoat? ever get one anodized? i was thinking about getting the body of mine anodized blue or gold.

didnt realize there was so much interest in doing this. a buddie saw mine on here and emailed me to do his.

i went a little nuts with the one i got off of smitty. i got drill happy and now im gonna have to repaint the whole thing! ugh! its gonna be a long winter! i think im gonna have to give dozer a call. good luck guys! the reels look awesome!!

hey night tides....i stripped the greenie...but the black 704 was previously powdercoated.......both reels got blasted, prebaked and then cleaned....and both were powdercoated....at two differant shops. thanks for the positive feedback

stilltryin let me know what you need. remodeling my bathroom now so it will be a few weeks before i can do any polishing. sandblasting is easy i do that at work. i know what you mean i went crazy with the drill on mine. putting holes in stuff is fun.
