Ed Jason and my self get to the lighthouse around 4am excited to go fishing we head rite down to scope it out it was the first time for the 3 of us at mauntauk. Did a little fishing no luck went back to the truck and took a little break then Charlie and Jeff show up to meet me Jayson and ed in the lower parking lot........
We all gear up again head down to the beach and its like a sight i have seen many times with fisherman butt to nut on the shore line it was chaos trying to cast at times.... The one thing i and the guys did not recognize was all the BASS BLITZING wow awesome sight one after another all day long.
We all got in to at least one fish Jeff catching the biggest of the day during this blitz think it was 36 or 38".
Took a break went back to the trucks and had some burgers at 9 AM in the morning :.............. lol geared back up again and fished pretty much the rest of the day with a break every few hours...

To end the day we all got on a blitz the size of a football field and fished it hard what a epic sight to see the bass just throwing them selfs out of the water and exploding on our lures awesome just awesome...
We all got atleast 4 fish each some more....Cant wait till the next trip up....
Jeff and Ed and Jason have most of the good pictures so i will just put a few of mine up and they should place some up also.....

As my first trip to Montauk, it was a trip to remember for sure! Even if I didn't wet a line, it still would have been worth the trip to see those stripers breaking water like that all day. Definitely a sight to see! I highly recommend making at least one trip out there if you haven't been there before. All in all, I landed 4 bass, and hooked up with a bunch more that came unbuttoned, or got hooked up and lost in the rocks. For the 5 of us, I'd say we landed about 20+ bass for the day. Walking those rocky bottoms, are so much different than sandy floor Jersey fishing. I had a few good falls here and there. I'm sure Charlie & Jeff will chime in and break my stones some more.
Most of the bass we landed were inside the havoc of the boiling water, until Jeff & Smitty each found a magic plug and started pulling some nice fish outside the blitzes. Those bass had no chance against Jeff's rocket casting. If those bass came anywhere near the beach, you can bet Jeff had his plug in em.
Great day, great weather, great company. Can't ask for much more than that. Here's a photo of the only bass I kept. We cooked it up on the grill in the parking lot. Can't get much fresher than that.

Sorry I didn’t get a chance to meet you guys. I hit the road for Montauk at 3am Friday Oct 7, and was catching bass on the North Bar by 5am. I fished blitz after blitz all weekend long on the north side. I left them biting late Sunday afternoon.
..
I guess im not the only one that uses the grip on there mojo to measure fish Old Salts i will trade you a pair of pliers for a couple plugs lol
