boat project

well for a while on my boat smelt gas here and there but not really bad we noticed the carb kept pourin in gas when the motor was turned off so rebuilt that and stoped doing that so problem solved but nope started smelling gas again and this past weekend checked everything and was no leaks so had to be the gas tank.

So sat pulled the gas tank what a pia had to trim the sides of the floor under the hatch so the tank could fit out. when we got the tank out was corroded all over and even had a small hole in one end so getting a new tank for that going with polyethelyn (plastic) instead of aluminum like the old one.

Along with that going to build a wooden deck up where i drive so can stand higher and see better when driving. Will have pics as it comes along.

have work this weekend most likely plan is next weekend get down early fri to get the boat all back together.

got supplies today at home depot 1 2x4 16ft long, 2 5/4x6 10 ft long, and 1 5/4x6 8ft long. Also got a box of screws and a piece of aluminum angle to make supports that will hold it down to the boat.

well got all the wood cut and put together now need to get down to the boat to put it in

Looks great now i know who to call if i need a deck :.............. ....will the seat be mounted to the top of the deck?

yeap seat will be on the deck, have the L shaped cause of the cabin door has to open but this way when driving can be up higher. will have pics as i put it in the boat so can see it all together.

well came down sunday for a weeks vacation finally got the boat back together and got to get back to fishing.


new tank in ended up with a 30 gallon polyethelyn (plastic) one


and the floor all back together with the new platform in it.
