...flies to test....

...so Charlie sent me some flies he made up for me to test...

...and he thought I would be tossing them to some blue fish...

...well I gotta tell ya that I never will toss any GOOD stuff to the blues !!!


....it's finally that time of year here ....the dandilions are up ...so are the bass !!!


...selected these two to to 'match the hatch' and by golly they did !!!



...schoolies are fun on the fly rod .....





...but what's even better are the 7" kind !!! .... it proves that we will have some stripers for some years to come yet...






....I'll take care of the stupid ones...no matter what size they are....






...thanks again Charlie for the assortment....they work just fine

oldman---what kind of stripping basket do you use? i've made one and it seems to be holding up alright, but i am just curious what others are doing..

Glad the flies worked I'm glad you got into them and scored with the long rod.

You deserve a cow now. I hope you continue to catch throughout the year.

....I use a home made one ....

...just a plastic wash pan ...bout 6 inches deep and 16" X 12"...

....holes blown thru the bottom to let the water out...

... a flat bungee cord ....

...slots cut to hold the rod ....this is good and bad...sometimes (not often but) the line will catch the edge on the way out during a cast....

...I use 1/2 plastic easter eggs glued to the bottom ....I've tried wire ties, thick mono and a coupla other items ....but the best has turned out to be the easter eggs...

...someday I'll wash the pond scum out of the bottom of it...really I will !!!
