Re: Spinner
mine is about $15 worth of stuff. plywood and an animation motor (30 rpm) i bought online for around $10. i made the pulleys on the lathe to gear it down and use an o-ring as a drive belt. dont have pics anymore but i can send you some if you want. i kinda like the rubbermaid tub idea. seems easy and cheap. also when not in use it doubles as a storage bin for all the stuff. also i can put a piece of foam on the end of the motor to dry teasers. lathe helps when making pulleys and you can make different sizes to accomodate different speeds. i just turned pieces of pine with a v-groove in the middle for the o-ring. clamp the motor wherever you need to to tighten the belt. also makes the end plates for the drum. then put eyelets in each plate, to hook plugs with and use rubberbands through the plug eyelets to accomodate different lengths. sometimes my cheapness keeps me busy. also with 2 kids in college money is a little tight so i have to be creative.

Re: Spinner
Here are some not so good pix of the one I built. It isn't hard to do.
I've seen guys make them out of a plastic storage tug and a rotisserie motor and some pvc.
I think you should try to make your own, it will help you get the feel of designing tools and items, and jigs you might need building plugs.
It has a plexiglass sliding front window, and a dimmer switch to regulate the temp and I added a thermostat to know the temp while finish is curing.

You got it almost right Steve, that's the dinning room
And when I'm not e-texing plugs in the dinning room, I cook hot dogs in the spinner then I move to the
living room to eat, paint, and watch TV
I wonder why the dogs won't let me in their room
