a couple i did recently...
ok got a couple more plugs done.... messed with some new techniques... like the results.... still need practice with the true fire technique but it's my best attempt so far and i was tired of practicing on cardboard....
a bit of marble..... i love this technique and i will probably use it a lot and tweak it to get different looks... for now a basic yellow/redhead....
here's the attempt at the true fire.... a bit rough but i'm learning and can see where my mistakes are... so soon i think i'll have a more presentable paint job....

I have stolen that blue flame pic and added it to my flames folder. Going to have a go at flames one day. You should write a tutorial, I wouldn't know where to start.
Very nice job.

I am in the process of building my spray booth at the moment, so I will be learning the basics first. Just about everyone who holds a brush contemplates a flame job, they are so impressive when done right. Post a tut, it might rattle a few pro's but who cares.

first off thanks again guys for the compliments.....
vodkaman...... if you are going to be airbrushing...... than the best advice i can give is search the internet.... there's a ton of videos especially for basic airbrush techniques..... one thing you will want to learn and try to get right is the dagger stroke..... it's tricky and will make learning almost anything else pretty simple..... i still can't do a decent group of dagger strokes, no matter how much i practice them...
the real flame is a bit tricky.... i learned a lot searching the internet for true fire and true flame videos..... i took what i saw and started practicing on cardboard and other things.... i can not get the real fire true fire to look right.... so i took what i was learning and brought it to doing just the blue..... one key i learned was the use of transparent paints.... it helps blend and add depth to the different layers of flames...
when i get another blank i'll try and do a step by step and possible video of what i do.... i just think you can learn more from the videos found online since i'm just a beginner i don't think my tutorial will be much help.... i'll try and post some of the videos i learned the technique from they're good and i think will help you a lot..

HM, thanks for the advice, the web is a powerful learning resourse.
You call yourself a beginner, well that gives me hope.

Mackeral,
I concur with the group, the flame job is sick, and I also like the idea of a tutorial..Keep up the great work!
