Re: New rod and reel setup
Nice setup. If you don't use rod clamps Avet sells a smaller more comfortable reel foot for around $15 shipped, it has a better fit with Fuji trigger reel seats.
The way i hold my rod the threaded bolt holder on the stock reel foot will dig into my middle finger. IMO, the aftermarket reel foot is worth the $15. It fits all rods and should have been stock on the SX.

Andy, Its more of a warning. The stock reel foot doesn't fully seat itself in some Fuji trigger reel seats, it feels like it does but when fighting a fish the reel can pop off the rod
The aftermarket reel foot has one "flat" end & the other end has a radius, the "flat" side must go into the end of the reel seat that screws down on the foot.
Here are two of my rods, top a G Loomis Pro-Blue (Trigger seat) Bottom a Lamiglas Tri-Flex Graphite Inshore (Pipe seat) The stock Avet reel foot pops out of the top seat (G loomis trigger) But fits fine in the bottom pic (Lami Pipe seat)
Make sure the reels foot is fully seated in the Fuji seat!

Re: New rod and reel setup
Thanks tales, I did order the reel foot just to make sure. I asked the guy I picked up the rod from and he said he didn't have a problem with the same reel when he was using the rod. He said this was a newer fuji stea so maybe they made them wider but I'm not going to take any chances. I will never use the rod clamp anyway.
