I just purchased 2 450 baitrunners for my 10ft surfrods what type and lb of line should I put on them :idea: thanks for anyones advise shimano baitrunner 622665

I like suffix braid.In 50lb test. :idea:

my 6500s have 20lb suffix seige on them. my 4500 has 17lb suffix seige. I prefer mono on my baitrunners. If you want to use braid, 50lb suffix is the way to go.

i have a 3500 on my 8 ft rod, i use 30 lb mono, havent gotten it wet yet though.

i know the 50 braid is thin like 14-ration i think hows the casting distance say i was using a 10ft with a 3oz. is it smooth!! thankx 8)

mike, i got a 4500 i've always used 50 lbs. power pro, never any problems with it, i use anything from 3 oz with bait and 8 oz with bait on a 10 ft med heavy pole rated from 3 to 6 oz

IM USING 4O LB BERKLEY BIG GAME BRAID.(GREEN) ON A 240 US REEL. IT HOLDS 180 YARDS NO BACKING. I HAD A FEW FISH TAKE ME DOWN BUT PLAYED THEM OUT. GOT THEM BACK. YOU CAN USE 20 LB AND DO THE SAME. ITS HOW YOU KEEP THE DRAG SET AND NOT TOO HORSE THE FISH.WE ARE IN THIS FOR FUN.LET THE FISH HAVE A CHANCH TOO.

20# mono backing and 300 yd of 50# PowerPro.

I just use enough backing to cover the spool a couple of times and then fill the reel with braid.

If I ever hook a fish that can spool 300 yd of 50# line off an 11' med heavy rod with and the drag cranked down I figure there isn't a heck of a lot that heavier backing could do to save the fish.
