Sore/thumb & Gilgo Beach's Closed

Both beach closed do to Beach Erosion. What next????

Demo is limited as well. Was there this afternoon. The access road is closed for construction equipment. You can access the sand from the east corner of the parking lot of field 2. Demo does not appear to be too bad. However I was there at lowtide, so not to sure what hightide will bring. They make you stop about 2/3 down to the jetty, so walking to the jetty is not too bad, it's just hoofing you need to do to get to the spit. Hopefully this calmer weather pattern will hold and wind shifts out of the south/southwest and replentishes the beach. They appear to be repairing the access road, so I would think it will be open in a few weeks. As for Gilgo & Thumb being closed, that means no access to the town beaches either. I'm gonna hit up town hall for the permit next week, I'm going to ask if we can access it from the parking lot. Can't hurt to ask

Just got the town permit on the 1st,Let me know how you make out about going through the parking lots.

Joe, went everwhere at town hall looking for the "right" answer. Every door I knocked was a NO> Tomorrow, I'll call councilman Henry's office, he's a big fisherman too, maybe he can help. Sent you a long winded PM too
