Surf Candy
Tying up some candies, figured I'd share it with SBO.
Materials:
Mustad 4/0 hook
Danville 210 flat waxed thread (red)
Red bucktail
Grizzly saddle patch hackel (blk,white)
Loon hard head clear & pearlescent
Krystal flash, pearl
1/8" blk,silver stick on eyes
zap a gap ca
Wrap hook from eye to bend and back again. This will keep material in place.
Put drop of glue on end,cut sm amount of buck tl and tie off.
Wrap thread around buck tl, not too tight. go from eye to bend using olny a few wraps then back to eye again.
Cut 3-4 strands of flash, cut in half for length, place the strands on top of buck tl and tie off.The strands should lay across the top.
Coat wraped section of hook including flash w/loon pearlescent. tie off,cut thread and put on dryer.
After drying place eyes and coat w/.loon clear. While still wet cut feathers, and line them up on the sides. Once feathers are moulded onto the body coat again w/ loon clear, and put back on dryer.
Of coarse colors, feathers, flash can be changed.Letting loon thicked up in jar will let you apply heavier coats and give the teaser a more 3-d look.

So that's how it's done, nothing to it. I think I'll go to my cave and tie up a couple dozen real quick.
