Building Problem.
Guys, Most of you must have gone through what I'm experiencing right now.
The deal is this. I wake up everyday with the intention of finishing a lure but all I do is end up carving one new blank after the other.
I'm supposed to paint but while walking from one end of the shop to the other I see a piece of wood and new ideas start forming.
Before you know it there's another blank on the bench.
My buddy said he wanted a stick bait that was 12" long and gave me a brief description. I ended up with a 12, 10 and 8".
I can't stop myself, it's like the creativity is outta control.
Paint NO, just carve, carve!!!!!
I even made some crazy Aluminum plugs between 10 and lunchtime yesterday. Those were polished and are at the ocean already.
I need advice.
Thanks in advance.

awesome man ...hey how did you shape them????did you use a metal lathe????
i Have a wood lathe that i can set the speed low and a carbide cutter wonder if i can use it to shape aluminum
nice stuff man.....
,,,, For me it happens around the midnight hour,,,, three coffee pots in
The ghost of the lurebuilders before me come and start to pound on my head affraid begging me
to complete their unfinished projects.... :read:
I try to sleep then they bang from the inside, tempting me with the answers
I have been seeking drool.....
Once in the shop, I become their zombie :lava: Finally, after doing their work, I can sleep.....
When I wake I run to the shop,,,,, just like a kid at christmas, I am amazed, but more then that,,,
" Thankful "
Those here understand your problem all to well

Re: Building Problem.
I think we all have this problem, my eight yr old girl is with me when I build and she's the one that keeps me on track. Don't know where she get's this from but she always tells me finish this before you start that.....I do it !! she's my motivation to get things done.

Re: Building Problem.
They say behind every great man there is a woman!!
I'm going to discipline myself starting tomorrow.
Guys thanks for the encouragement and advice, it all helps.
The Aluminum lures were made using a grinder, drill press and a belt sander.
The polishing is a bitch but the end result is worth it.
The day job is supposed to be building custom motorcycles but the demand has fallen off the planet and right now I'm having more fun than ever.
I've had quite a few requests for the metal lures so I think I'll make a few more in between the other stuff.
SBO rocks, you guys are always positive and everyone is always up to help.
No better forum IMHO.

Thanks Etch, I'm just waiting for a report back on them now.
Your work is unreal. Do you have a website?.
There's a huge Bass community here and I could post a link etc because the guys are into the type lures you make.
