Fished SoMoCo from 6pm to 8pm. Tried shads and bucktails and still couldn't find my first bass. But I did catch my first ever fish from the surf. I caught it on a bluesfish bucktail teaser. I think it is called a sundial. It was about 12" long. It wasn't what I was after, but at this point I will take what I can get. Very Happy

In NoMoCo 7" Redfins, needlefish, sluggos, mag darters, T-hexes and teasers have been the ticket. Shads and wide bodied lures haven't even made it out of the bag. Think sand eels.

Agreed - think sandeels imitations; long narrow metals such as aT-hex or diamond jig with a tube. I use the metals as a delivering devise to get my gulp sandeel teaser out to the fishes. As a matter of fact, I want to try replacing dressed rear hook or the tube, depending on metal, with a baitholder hook and a gulp sand eel.
