10/25/09 Limit Tog

Left the dock at gk today at 530am, hit the rips with eels for nada!! did see some old dude catch a cow on the troll!! looked over 30pds Headed back into the bay did some more drifts for nada! Made the power move at around 10 am to tough it out and head south to the reef !!! Was rewarded with gold! 4 of us limited out by 3pm with fish up to 8lbs. Played catch and release after that till 5pm. Made it back to the dock on less the 5 gallons of fuel !! God i love my 4 Stroke!! NEED BASS ASAP!

thanks guys unfortunely i have to take some pix down again!! i was in belief for the last 3-5 years at least u have to follow your boats registrtion regs. I was wrong its where u land the fish!!! im so hurt right now. Im a good kid i follow all regs But this confusing stuff is bs. Spent about 1hr on the phone with dec asking more ?'s they had no answers for. I asked them if i caught the fish in "the bay old orchard" just say and then decided after that i wanted to do some bassing at the shewsbury rocks if i got stopped at the rocks how would dec know where i got the fish. Would they think i was fishing nj all along ?? I then said ok so im aloud to keep 18 fluke when im fishing the hook right?? they so no because the boat is docked in NY. WTF Maybe im wrong but seriusly. They told me the rockaway reef was for ny boats!! SURE THING I LOVE GETTING SMALL SEA BASS AND PORGIES!! LIKE REALLY
I asked where the line is over in nj they said to check my local water maps. After the talk with dec it left more mor confused. I just dont get how the avg angler that maybe gets out wat 2 times a week if that can be limited to 1 FISH PER DAY AND PARTY BOATS THAT DO BOTTOM FISHIN M-F 8-4 CAN HAVE A 2 FISH LIMIT CAN SOMEONE HELP ME OUT HERE IM PUZZELED

I was wondering if something had changed. Hey no harm no foul. that makes up for the sea bass we cant keep. from what i understand (and i'm no expert here) its based on where you are when you get boarded. we purposely never keep any stripers if we are planning to do some wreck fishing beyond 3 miles. dont sweat it, honest mistake we all make them, just nice to see someone own up to it.
