Haven't been around in a long time - believe me didn't mean to disappear. I'v ebeen dealing with two health issues since March. One hs left me - the other is a herniated disc in my neck. Getting traction and feeling beter everyday. The goal is no surgery :)
I made my first troller back in June - 4/0 6x VMC Trebles and a 7/0 Siwash rear - 8.25" and 4 ounces plus (my scale is off getting a new one). I was able to cast it well on my 1205. You definitely need a beefy rod or it will be in at least two pieces if you try to cast this. First swim was i Barnegat inlet during a new moon outgoing tide. I wanted to see if it could handle the insane current without spinning out and it did. I had to use rough 2x2 AWC to get the girth for her. can't wait to toss her in a bunker school!
