New guy here.
Just wanted to say hello. Rickstillcasting had told me about this site back in the spring, but it kind of slipped my mind. And then I received an email from Akscuba about this site, which was also a while ago, I rarely check email with all the spam I get.
Anyways, I figuered I might as well join and peruse the site, looks very nice from what I've seen so far.
I live in Brick, and tend to fish locally, and mostly from land. I like the Manasqan River, northern Barnegat Bay, the inlet, and anyone who even remotely knows me, knows I like to lurk around the Point Pleasant Canal at all hours of the night.
Weakfish are really my thing, but they've been disappointing in the last 2 years, so I haven't really been trying for them lately, hate to set myself up for disappointment.
Stripers work, I've caught a couple, I do enjoy fishing for them also.
I like inshore fishing in fast moving water with light tackle and artificials, I rarely use bait, once in a blue moon I'll liveline though. Thats probably why I like the canal so much.
Haven't been doing any fishing since the end of June till now and from what I'm hearing of local friends, there's not much going on, waters to warm for good striper action, and weakies are noticably absent(at least where I fish), so I'll probably resume in the fall, looking for the striped ones. Till then, I'll peruse the site and see what it has to offer, and if I can offer anything to the site in the furure.

Re: New guy here.
Thank you all for the welcome, seems like a very nice site, and hopefully doesn't draw to many azzhats(let them stay on that other site, LMAO).
Much as I try to keep a low profile, it doesn't seem to work, and seems a lot more people know me than I know them, LOL.
I will defnitiely be around in the fall lurking for the striped ones. It should be a very good fall. Even if the larger migrating cows shoot straight down in their migration from Block Island to Cape May and stay outside the 3 mile limit in my area, there will still be plenty of short fish along the beach with a few keepers thrown in. And inshore, there's always a good number of keeper fish that run 7 to 16 pounds that feed heavily before moving out and heading south at the last minute.
Fishincrazy, thanks and yes I remember that night, it was a slow night striper fishing, but overall, spring was very very good to me striperwise. Almost seems funny to meet a person in real life before the net.fishincrazy wrote:

Re: New guy here.
Thanks. Yes, I know some fish are there, but water temp is up to high for any consistent action, even on the incoming. It would be ideal if weakies were around, but they've been pretty scarce lately.joesfishinproblem wrote:hey wink man great to see you here havent seen you lurking lately there are some fish around in a few sppots you fish,,,you better get back out there jfp
