Ted, anytime you want me to come down there and show you a couple more things on painting just let me know. i had a good time painting your last plug......did you ever fish it?
Kevin, i still remember the day when i handed it to him, i thought that Aj was going to pass out when i put the first mayhem plug in his hands. that was the first mayhem and most WICKED plug i have ever made hands down.
maybe i should light a fire under my butt and get back at this in full swing............
and to everyone who is in the challenge, i wish you all the best and i cant wait to see what you guys and gals come up with.

Attempted one tonight, what a disaster. Used two colors for the first try and was able to understand the process. Then I tried using some black, what a mistake, never use black lol. Will try again, thanks again Keith, maybe in thirty years I'll be almost a good as you lol !!!

Keith - Can transparent colors be used or are they to thin ????

Re: marble bunker----black talon
the problem with them is they will bleed together to much, and yes they are much thinner. if you do use tranparent paints, contrasting colors will do better than others. like black and white and so on.your best bet is to just try and not to use them.

okay,,,,,,
mine is done, and in the spinner, my first attempt was a bit of a let down, I think I made up for it......
paint stays wet longer, if I open the doors, :study: super great swirling time.. No doubt about it, this was a tough challenge, the handbrushed part opens up for alot of creativity,,, I for sure learned some things, and had fun doing it

Re: marble bunker----black talon
Tried again tonight !!! I think it might have come out a little better then the first one, but not much !!! Did better with the swirling part but still need a lot of practice.
Used three colors this time but only two showed through, don't really know why, think maybe the bottom coat wasn't wet enough or my brush is to soft ?????
Oh well it was a fun challenge !!!!!

Re: marble bunker----black talon
Here is my attempt, total crap that has turned into a fish catching color. I used too much paint, too much water, and the wrong kind of brush for this project. Came out as a pretty cool looking fire tiger color. This one was a little much for me and my low level skills.

I was the man behind the camera on this one so I have gotten a good look at how he does it.
Big M…you got the idea but it looks like you are pushing a lot of paint…nothing wrong with that, just a different look.
FJR…postem up
Something that may help out is using thinner brushes and only letting the tip do the work. Since it takes some time it is best to get comfortable and keep you hand fairly stationary as you do little sections at a time. I am sure Keith mentioned that on the chat, but I was not around to know for sure.

Re: marble bunker----black talon
I realized quick that there was way too much paint and water. Paint was trying to run all over the bait and this was attempt
to make the best of a mess. This really gives me some ideas on funky craw patterns and more tiger stripes.
