What I have been working on.
Just started this plug building thing and finally managed to finish a few a poppers and have a few littering my desk in various stages
of construction.
My first take at making a few spooks and two unfinished swimmers/topwater baits haven't decided what they will end up as yet.
Heres the rest of them in one shot up in the left are five unfinished spooks and to the right are five unfinished swimmers. In the middle are six small poppers that will be through wired, and lastly my first group of completed plugs not much compared to whats been posted on this forum but you got to start somewhere.

Re: What I have been working on.
Great start Buddah, a couple suggestions since your are carving by hand
a) buy yourself a sure form( Stanley make them)
b) buy a sanding block and 150 grit sand paper
you will save yourself time and you will have a better end product.
Here is a picture of the equipment that I use to make my hand carved plugs
Keep up the great work!!

Re: What I have been working on.
I shape my plug with it, like a knife but more control, here is a picture.
You can use dowels or square stock it does not matter, the Surform will knock down any wood really. I find that Douglas Fir, Basswood, and AYC (Alaskan Yellow Cedar) carve the best. Douglas Fir is by far the cheapest.

Re: What I have been working on.
Wow, thanks Vin looks much simpler and cleaner than by using a knife, will have to pick one up.
