dace & fallfish

can anyone tell me if a dace & fallfish are the same pics & links are helpful. Im trying to find the next best live bait for river run stripers due to the herring ban. dace are readily available in local rivers but mass abstracts say fallfish are a legal bait to posess & a red bellied dace is on the endangered species list like sturgon is there two kinds of dace ?????? thanks ST

found these on a quick search. seem to be choices on the dace. Not sure what you have up there But the fallfish seems like it would work just fine
shame the redbelly on the endangered list but I think I just found a new lure pattern to try with the red-belly!
