Night bite

Just curious what way does everyone while bait fishing from the surf at night look to see when they have a bite me personaly use rod tip lights how do you. :shock: :shock:

I think those night lights are the best,, i have tried those bells also but for me we just didn't get along,,what i like to do is sit in a chair w/ one rod in a holder arms lenght away the other in another rod holder a few steps away,, though the line is at a different angle then the one nearest me. sometimes I don't have the night light sticks and play the nervous eyeball game against the night sky. if the fish will take a plug the bait sticks get reeled in,, i just can't commit to two fishing methods at once. Soon our beaches will be alive w/ bait and moving fish,, its the most wonderful time of the year! Good luck stevel and all.

Or for dunking whole mullet for bluefish I just hold the rod....

If I am fishing in stealth mode I will hold the rod,if I don't care I use "old red eye".

The bells are so Fucking annoying after 20 mins . Use the Lunker Lights ....And Tape them to the tip ..

I am not a big bait guy , but this is what i saw all night up and down the beach ..

I learned that lesson the hard way last year during an insane bite.As soon as the bait would hit bottom bam,sometimes when walking back up the beach to put the rod in the holder my finger would sometimes get caught in the line during a hit.

if i am fishing bait at night it's almost always during the chunking bite and i hold the rod. bunker (whole or heads) are going to be eaten by something that won't slow down because of a spike. as for clams, i will normally fish them during the day in certain conditions in spring. circle hooks and spikes are often employed.

once ur eyesight adjusts to the nighttime u get used to seeing the rod tip!!!!
