DE and Maryland Week
Spent the past week in OC MD area family during the day and fishing at night
Landed about 30 stripers with only a few keepers
Had a weakfish dinner one night which was awesome as I have not caught a keeper size trout in years
Lots of flounder and lots of action''Fished OC Inlet, IRI and RI (RI for slots sized stripers which were everywhere :) )

Sounds like Assateague Island - bring bug spray and some gasoline for when you realize that the bug spray does not repel the Osprey sized mosquitoes they have there :)
If you are going to fish OC inlet you have a number of options - Tog and flounder during daylight hours. For Tog set up towards the tip of the jetty - anywhere AFTER the concrete ends is usually good
For Flounder I like an incoming tide and i use a spec rig with gulp swimming mullet (chart and white). 1/4 oz and 3/8 oz jig heads should work well for you as you will not have a big tide next week. My fav. spot is just below the railing where the pay to look binoculars are - if you cast out and let the rig settle the incoming tide will sweep it over a nice sandbar that is usually loaded with flounder. MD size and creel is three at 17" and you should be able to fill that in a good hours work. Be careful not to let the rig sweep too close to the rocks as they are covered in mussels and will eat your rigs up fast!
At night 5" Swim Baits in bunker pattern (4" does not sink fast enough and the 6" sinks too fast to work properly) - best fish on a slow moving tide - cast and let settle to the bottom and then reel in very slow until a rockfish slams it! I like the area near the drain pipe about 1/2 down the jetty but they are everywhere. Again - lure eating rocks so you need to get a feel
If teh Tide is running fast then I like 1 oz jig heads with eel imitators like ribbon tail worms or sluggos
Spec rigs at night with varied retrieve where also producing keeper weakfish.
You can also hit the 5th street bulkheads for croaker and tog during the day - tide rips there
Stop in at AllTackle or Akes for bait - they both carry greenies and assorted live and frozen stuff

If you plan on heading to IRI or RI let me know and I will Pm you about those places as they get heavy pressure and I would not post on the web (you will find 20 people fishing the "new" spots)
Rember you need a MD and/or DE SW license and FIN
