A new Sand Eel pattern
I'm working on a new Sand Eel pattern for next Fall. I think it could be changed up a little for a Cinder Worm or Clam Worm pattern also. Now to test cast and see how she behaves under water.
And I promise not to hit myself in the noggin with it Bob, or try not to

Re: A new Sand Eel pattern
Hello! New to the Forum, so this is my first post! First I'd like to say, Great Fly!!! Secondly, I'd like to ask where you got the velvet tubing( i'll understand if its a secret ) I remeber tying those style flies in the mid-90's then all of a sudden couldn't find the tubing anymore. the deep red that I used to get made wicked cinder worms. Thanks for sharing your great fly
Cheers,

I got the cording from here http://www.saltwaterflies.com/catalog2.html#velvettubing
I used a permanant marker to color the fly. You can also use the velvet tubing for Cinder worm patterns.
Good stuff, but go lightly with the maker as this tubing really picks up the colors easily.

I have a half doz all ready jeff and just got more cording to tie up more if needed.
I hope the bass like them. I was shown this pattern last fall when a long rodder scored 2 bass over 30" with them. He was nice enough to give me one to copy.
