Re: duck hunting!
Research a Guide. Some will say they are a good thing some will say best money ever spent some will say it wasn't worth it.
You have to figure which guide suits you best and your dad/uncle who ever is taking you out. I can see you need an adult to go hunting with you by your age.
I don't duck/goose hunt simple fact is I never got into it when I was younger. I would like to try it someday I'm 34. I've tried to find somebody to go with but some guys are shy about taking NEW people to that type of shooting environment if they have no experience.
You have nothing to loose if you go by yourself or with a guide. The guide is there to help you not just make some money off of you. Give it a shot and let us know how you do. Good Luck!!!!!!!

Re: duck hunting!
Dont forget to swing through, and let your instincts take over. Ive had teal buzz by my uncle from left to right that I dropped because of instincts. What type of ducks are you hunting? General area?

Re: duck hunting!
Wood ducks are quick (actually super fast) and smart - have patience and stay still. They will be heading from hardwoods (ie oak trees and such) to water so get in a fly way. Any marshy area where there are some hardwoods nearby is a likely bet. Wood ducks have claws that lets them climb trees so that is what they do.
Woodys will go into the trees during the day near the swamp area to forage and head out over teh water at dawn and dusk. remember, woodies do not "quack" they whistle so be aware what they sound like when scouting possible shooting zones
You can listen here (or Hear here, LOL)
