10/3 & 10/4 report- Upper DE Bay
Sat: Went out a little late on saturday morning, wanted to fish the outgoing tide which started about 930/10... Went out with some fresh bunker and out to the channel we went. It was a little foggy in the morning but soon burned off as we got out there, not too many boats out today! so we get to our spot and anchored up, another boat came too but was far from us which was good. used chunks and noggins, caught a few short bass. the fish won today.. as for tom, he caught a keeper at 31 inches!! went in about 3, had some birthday dinner plans for a friend..
Decided to go nightfishing in our friend Joe's boat along with his neighbor. Joe has a 30 ft. proline and another friend came out with his son in a 15 or 16 ft boat...i didnt think he knew what he was about to get himself into... We fished out in the channel which is 7 miles out and not too long after setting up, a thunder storm and some rain came up the south end of the Bay.. :.............. it was 10 miles from us so we were okay being out there, but our buddy in the smaller boat went in. he radio'd us that he made it safely, so we stayed and fished the outgoing tide again. didnt catch anything except some sharks and oyster cracker. made a move down to another spot, but nothing hit..the full moon def. played a part in not having any hits.. so we headed in about 5:30AM.
Water was about 65-69F surface, so as long as the weather remains, we should start seeing more bass soon!! cant wait for next weekend!!
