KAYAKING WITH SAFETY.
[b] I SEE A LOT OF PEOPLE READING MY KAYAKING STORIE. SO LETS TALK SAFETY.. SO HERE ARE SOME OF THE THINGS I CARRY. PLEASE FEEL FREE TOO ADD TOO THE LIST. THE FIRST ONE IS A MUST, A USCG APPROVED PERSONAL FLOATION DEVICE. ALSO KNOW AS A PFD. A USCG APPROVED WHISTLE. A WISTLE IS LOUDER THAN A PERSON YELLING. IT WILL BE HEARD FURTHER. A SMALL AIRHORN CAN WORK TOO. ALSO HAVE IT ATTACHED TOO YOUR PFD. PLAN YOUR TRIP. MAKE A FLOAT PLAN AND STICK WITH IT. TELL SOMEONE WHEN AND WHERE YOU ARE GOING TOO KAYAK. LET THEM KNOW WHEN YOU SHOULD BE BACK BY. YOU SHOULD HAVE A KNIFE ATTACHED TOO YOUR PFD. INCASE YOU GET TANGLED UP IN FISHING LINE OR BRAID, ROPE. WHEN FLOATING IN THE WATER TANGLED IN LINE THE ONLY THING TOO TOO FREE YOU UP WILL BE A KINFE. YOU WILL NOT BREAK FREE BY HAND. BRAID WILL CUT YOU TOO THE BONE. HAVING A CELL PHONE OR A SMALL VH RADIO.KEPT IN A DRY BAG. A FLARE GUN WITH FLARES KEPT IN A DRY BAG. A SIGNAL MIRROR ATTACHED TOO YOUR PFD. A LEASH ON YOUR PADDLE.
YOU SHOULD PRATICE ROLLING YOUR KAYAK AND GETTING BACK ON. DO IT IN SHALLOW WATER. JUST TOO HAVE AN IDEAR OF WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF YOU TAKE A SPILL. REMBER IF YOU TAKE A SPILL. THE FIRST THING TOO DO IS TAKE A DEEP BREATH. THEN JUST THINK FOR A MINUTE. JUST BE CALM IT CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE.
TAKE THE WEATHER IN COUNT WHEN KAYAKING. IF THEY ARE CALLING FOR THUNDER STORMS 20 TO 30 % CHANCE. KEEP IN MIND IF YOU ARE ON THE WATER YOU WILL GET THE BRUNT OF THE STORM. IF YOU SEE THE CLOUDS MOVING IN HEAD FOR SHORE. GETTING CAUGHT ON THE WATER IN A STORM IS NO FUN. IT COULD BE THE END. I WAS LUCKY ONCE I DONT WANT TOO FIND OUT A SECOND TIME. PRACTICE SAFETY AND HAVE A GOOD TIME. DONT LIKE HEARING THAT WE LOST ANOTHER KAYAKER.

4 SMALL KNIFE ON YOUR PFD.

Might sound trivial, but don't forget the sunscreen. Apply alot and often to your legs, they're outstretched and in direct sunlight.

Yup, I learned the hard way what happens when you don't put on the sunscreen. The front of my legs were lobster red while the backs were fine. Your legs are outstretched and baking in the sun all day long.

[b]AFTER A FEW HOURS IN THE HOT SUN.YOU CAN DEHYDRATE YOU LEGS. WHICH CAN SHRINK YOU LEGAMENTS AND TENDENTS. ITS A PAIN FULL THING.IT WILL TAKE ABOUT 2 WEEKS TILL YOUR LEGS FEEL RIGHT. I HAVE BEEN THERE IT SUCKS. SO REMBER TOO PUT PLENTY OF SUN SCREEN ON WHEN OUT IN THE YAK.
