Now,

Whilst you may, or may not, have been glued to your screen, watching the football (soccer) action, down in the southern chunk of your continent (& if not, why not? Your boys are doing OK). Much better than England's overpaid & over-rated, 'nancy-boys'. Scotland didn't even qualify (& Costa Rica are showing what a small Nation can achieve, not to mention Greece..). Cheer them on tomorrow, they could go through to the knockout phase!

Wether the World Cup interests you or not, I have taken on a Brazilian Challenge of my own..
A bloke over here has an interesting blog   www.mikeladle.com   , if you want to see how  British bass fishing goes, take a look & a read. Mike is a bit of a 'Guru' over here.

Anyway, his son is in Brazil currently (not playing football for England), working, or something.. was wondering about a lure to imitate the 'halfbeak' baitfish that abound over there.
So, how could I not offer to have a go?
I think you have them up your way, too, like little garfish.
So, I went for a floating, 'walk-the-dog' version & a sinking, wobbling, diving one, as well.

Here they are.

They have great actions (is that the beak doing that?).

It has been commented that the beak may snap off.. well, yes it probably will. On the first fish, though? Or the fifty-first? Or just in the bottom of his tackle box?
I have made them pretty tough (an insert of fine, birch ply), they may end up being carbon fibre, or some such. I like wood though.
We'll see.

The paints are a new venture, too. Createx. Wow!
The colours are amazing.
Took me several attempts to get this sparkle effect.

The photos do not do it justice.
Put them out in the sunlight & turn them..
the final coat is their 'Gem Jade' paint.. a colour-changing paint..
I don't think it's science.. just a good dose of 'magic'! Very Happy

Hope to report on how he gets on with them, though he will not be picking them up until September.
