Glider & popper variations.
Been playing around with some bigger, glider-styles for the saltwater. Have been surprised at how you can vary the lures action just by it's shape & lead placement. Even without a diving lip these lures work sub-surface beautifully. Obviously, they are relatively heavy for their size but in a wind, heavy is GOOD! The overall weighting is so that they 'just' float & is all in the nose or tail areas.
They are 6" to 7 3/8th" long & weigh 3 1/8oz. to 4 3/4oz.
The blue mackerel one has very little action, a little sideways wiggle is all. Boring but could be ok for a fast troll.
The Green one has a lovely mackerel-like fast wriggle.
The Golden-brown swims superbly when worked with the rod-tip & reel; gliding & veering & sliding around, with the occasional dive.
The largest, bonito coloured lure is equally good, with the difference that it 'tops' occasionally instead of a dive.
I am really pleased with this style of lure, going to vary size & colour, for bass & pike, too.
The hooks, by the way, are VMC 7560 TI. Poor-man's version of the Owner's Jon put on his GT lures.. I don't earn as much as he does!
