Re: ford bronco
Had a 6 rod, fold down cooler rack bolted to the bumper on mine. Got roof racks from J.C. Whitney and had Barrecrafters on those. Took 2 kayaks to Florida and back on those roof racks.
Loved my Bronco!!
Good Luck!

Re: ford bronco
Mine was an '89 and was a hardtop. Had the roofracks on the fiberglass top. Pretty much the same setup though. Must be great to take the top off on the beach.

Re: ford bronco
ugh i love that!!! i wanna do something similar but with out the racks on the top but im worried about bolting anything to the front cause its my every day car so i think just a rod rack would be better

Re: ford bronco
Before I got the fold down rack I just used a Surfcaster 4 rod that mounts on the plate that fit's behind the Lic Plate. Two wingnuts and it was off. Was black powder coated and very low key. They just started making them again after a few years of being unavailable. Very nice rod rack, but no cooler capability.

Re: ford bronco
With the Suburban I have now I use a front hitch mount so I can take the rack off real quick. Ya should talk to Shimer, sure he could fix ya up w/ a suitable custom solution!!

Re: ford bronco
the rack up front in the pics is a fold down model I made. Fold it up when you're not using and you're good to go!
Re: ford bronco
see i dont need a cooler atm cause im gonna get a hitch in the back so i can but a flat rack which would be better suitable when i go to the beach with friends and i dont want as much sand in my truck so just a rod rack would be best. i plan on probly getting a cart that has a hitch attachment which will hold cooler and rods in the future but that will be when i get some extra money which can be hard when ur a college student. lol

Re: ford bronco
For easy and economical you ought to see if Ed could make a "detachable" mount for your rack. Was and is nice being able to take it off for special occasions and the off season.
Best of Luck!
