Questions about an old plug.
Going through one my tackle boxes, on the very bottom, I found an old plug. As I recalled back in my past as a kid, around 1963, I bought this plug for a vacation we were supposed to take to Cape Cod that never materialized. Prolly bought it as 2 Guys from Harrison in Wayne NJ, if anyone remembers that store. It's brand new in the original box, never used. It's a Point Jude 'Swim Along', 2 oz. as printed on the bottom of the plug. It appears to be made of wood, but I'm not sure. Anyone know anything about the plug, or the company? Does it have any collector value, or should I just use it?

It does have collectors value. I would not fish it even though it was intended for it.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm not interested in the value per se, but nice to know it's a 'collector', I think I will keep it in the bottom of that tackle box and let the kids know so one day when I'm gone they can figure out what to do with it.
Thank you for the link Jim, it was especially useful, and interesting. I also did an internet search on 'Point Jude lures', and apparently, they are back in business, but only producing metal lures.
Kevin, I always keep original boxes, Lou Salvato of Paterson Rod & Gun taught me that YEARS ago, as a kid. He always said to me 'Throw the orginal box away from a gun, and you've thrown away 100 dollars when you go to sell it'.
Here's a couple of original boxes(with pristine reels in them), a blast from the past, straight out of the 60's, anyone remember these boxes? Enjoy !!!
